Pretty sure Lamborghini took one look at BYD’s three thousand horsepower supercar eating up the test track at 300 miles an hour and just quietly decided to pivot reinforce “the feel”.
Edit: “reinforce” is probably a better word than “pivot” , so I’ll use that, just so all those lambo apologists out there don’t have to post “iTS aLwAyS bEeN aBoUT tHe fEeL.”
I’ve worked in mines in the desert in South Australia where temps semi regularly hit 46-47 degrees.
It’s OK (ish) because the humidity is low. But you can drink a litre an hour all day (11+ hours) and not need to pee. All that water goes somewhere.
The underground workings are often more dangerous, with lower temperatures but higher humidity. Once wet bulb temps get above 34 degrees underground personnel need to retreat from the area and the only work that can be done there then is work to fix the ventilation.
There’s heat stress meters that measure wet and dry bulb temperatures and airflow, and can basically compute cooling power in watts. Not enough cooling power -> everyone out.
None of this stands up to any sort of robust critical thinking, which is sadly lacking in LLMs.
Eg. All your “high performing” worker input relies on skills gained elsewhere , and others have already asserted that the time spent doing one job is not directly equivalent to the time spent doing another job.
All your renewable energy sources rely on external inputs to manufacture or obtain. “We’ll just use solar panels and battery storage and avoid all the centralised systems”, you fail to understand the enormous resources needed to create such items in bulk, which is what you’ll need when making hyper local energy systems.
Essentially, your dream society is leeching off capitalism to exist, and this seems to directly go against its lofty ideals.
Lamborghini? The tractor company? Of course it was always about the feel.
It’s just being heavily reinforced now that even the Volvo in my garage can quietly beat them to the next set of lights.
An electric/hybrid powertrain would have made them relevant again, and they could likely get by on style even if performance is a bit lacking.Sad that they’re not choosing to do that.
