The raising people out of poverty GOAT, my eternal King, may he only know good things.

I actually go further personally. Afro-Eurasia is a single supercontinent. The Americas are a single continent. Oceania is one (Not just Australia but all the large islands out that way), and Antarctica. So I’d say we have 4. Then lots of subcontinents.

outside the US the Americas is usually considered a single continent. Not 2.

Zero. The US literally does not have the military capability to successfully invade Brazil. Brazil is no Superpower, but it is perfectly capable of defending itself, and it would turn into a total quagmire for the US. With its stockpiles depleted from the Iran war already it would be extremely ill advised for them to attack Brazil. Brazil has 375,000 Active Duty personnel, and spent $23.9 billion on its military in 2025.
They also have Gripen fighters. The Gripen is perhaps the best fighter in the world for the type of war this would be. It outflies an F-35, can land and take off from basically anything, is low maintenence compared to most modern fighters, and it’s not an exaggeration to say the F-35 would get its ass handed to it. Iran has shown it’s stealth is not good enough, and a Gripen is so much faster than an F-35 that once it sees the thing the F-35 is basically fucked.
As for a Navy they’re majorly focused on coastal, and river capabilities. Which when defending a country like Brazil is great.
That’s not even taking into account the diplomatic fallout globally. Brazil is not Venezuela. If the United States was to invade Brazil it would be the most significant geopolitical event since the end of WW2. Brazil is the 10th largest economy on the planet. China, Russia, the EU. All of them would feel the impact. And they’d all be furious.
Then there’s Mexico. If the US Invades Brazil Mexico knows it is on the list too. So it would not just sit idle. It would likely launch an economic warfare campaign against the US. And it’s the US’s biggest trading partner so that would be devestating. This would hurt Mexico too, but it would be existential for them at that point.
If you think Vietnam was bad invading Brazil would be that x20.

Nah. If your rich and not white there are still major downsides. It’s definitely more important how much money you have these days, but like, racism is still extremely common.

but they’re not synonyms either lol. Insurance is a very specific thing. It doesn’t just mean “Anytime you collectivize costs” or “a safety net”. It’s a specific business model used to cover specific losses of specific things.

An… adjective? Did you mean to claim it’s a synonym?

The US is actually a great place to live if you are a wealthy white person.

No it’s not… it’s a textbook example of a social safety net. aka Social Security. aka what they said.

Yeah I’ve seen that but I’ve also seen in the files how apparently theres a bunch of rich co-conspirators that were never charged during that investigation. So I don’t really buy the excuse. I think both of the US parties are implicated and so it’s always going to be the one out of power talking about it. And they’ll never actually release everything.

Where were the Epstein files the 4 years Biden was president? Why weren’t they all released then? Or at the very least some of them? I won’t hold my breath on the Dems ever doing more than posturing about this. When they get back in power suddenly they’ll find an excuse not to release them all.

You do understand most people don’t know anything about politics right? I’m not saying Bolsonaro and Trump are linked because they’re both right wing. Bolsonaro and Trump are very publically involved/allied. Trump has no such close ties to Le Penn. The average voter is a moron. They don’t know what ideologies are. They just know vibes. And Bolsonaro and Trump were openly posturing as being allies in a way that Le Penn is not.

I would bet money that seeing how Trump is doing right now is what made the difference. The Iran war is an international disaster and Bolsonaro was pretty tied in to trump. So if Trumps approval went down Bolsonaro might take a hit by proxy.

With wars like this there tends to be a point where one side breaks and the other side surges forward. If Ukraine is reaching their breaking point this could be a sign. They could try to get a diplomatic solution before they fail to hold the line and begin to lose ground rapidly. But if Russia knows that too why accept?

France and India pulling disproportionate weight here it seems

opposition to a very general thing that the general public might believe is a good thing?
Does the general public seem to believe that? Because it seems to me they’re rioting for the opposite reason.

Do you genuinely believe that western economists give a single shit about poor people?

“Um, Akshually the textbook definition of Austerity is…” We both know that the word is used by liberals in government to justify cutting very SPECIFIC things. And regardless it means to reduce overall government spending right? In a nation that has income inequality of any kind this means that the ones who have the means will simply look out for themselves, and the ones who do not will suffer or die. No matter WHERE you remove money from the economy it will always reduce the overall money supply moving around, and this will always hit the poor before it hits anyone else.
What a weird way to put it. I’d argue Europe doesn’t exist. It’s a pureply political distinction. It’s just far west asia. Or Eurasia if you want to be a bit inclusive.
