I think so too…but that’s a much harder fight… NY state isn’t as left leaning as NYC…

Maybe like the FBI and such where the directors get appointed for 10 year terms that go beyond a single presidential term…and it has to be near impossible for one president to remote another presidents confirmed appt. (Maybe make it something congress has to act on)

But it is the only way that has an actual direct effect. Save maybe for donating to campaigns… But that goes against getting money out of politics doesn’t it …

Absolutely. I will vote in the primaries, for the furthest left candidate that runs.
I will do the same in November. It’s the ONLY way we move the goalposts to the left. Not voting is not an option
Don’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good. We’re not going to get perfect. Human beings are deeply flawed creatures. I’ll settle for less evil.

Voting is the only voice we have.
Your mistake is believing this is an argument. This is a discussion.
An argument involves someone whose mind might be changed when presented with new facts or ideas.
At least one of us doesn’t fit that description.

First order of business has to be legislation to keep this from ever happening again.
No more felons in the white-house…or congress for that matter. No more moneymaking by people who get a government paycheck. Period. If you make 175K/year, that is the top limit of what you should be allowed to earn over the course of your time in government…
if you’re there to make money, nope.

With a single executive order the next president can undo every single thing Trump has done.

I want a maxi-mamdani… Like 3 or 4 of them in one candidate. ;-)

No, when ideological purists stay home, democrats lose. It has nothing to do with what they do. The same 35% of idiots vote for republicans in every election.
But when the left doesn’t show up to combat it, they win.

I will vote as far left int he primaries as I can…
But in the general, I will vote as far left as I can. Don’t care who it is.

I will vote or die trying.

I hate polls… the more polls show democrats ahead, the more money the billionare class is going to pour into defeating them in those races. It’s giving them a fucking roadmap.
The only poll that matters is November.

The only poll that matters is the one in November. Let’s hope people show up this time.

Hope changes the world…even if it’s a little bit at a time.

He’s turning into an amazing Mayor… Here’s hoping he can carry it off. The part the conservatives are most afraid of is that his plans will work…because they will (are already to an extent) work and serve as a template for other cities and states if they do.

If you don’t want a say in the government, by all means don’t vote.

It’s not, as someone else explained, it’s nurture, not nature… But kids raised by dumbasses are more likely to grow up to be dumbasses themselves… (I live in SW Virginia, I see it first hand ALL the time.)
There are, of course, exceptions, but it still holds true more often than not.

If you don’t vote, you don’t get a say. If you piss your vote away on someone who doesn’t have a chance, you also don’t get a say.
No crying, no tantrum. I am lucky in that I’m a middle-aged white-man so I likely won’t have any issue survivng the next Trump…
But I feel sorry for the marginalized communities who WILL (and ARE) suffering… They don’t stand a chance if the republicans get another term…

And how’s that working for the world?
He can…but he’d have to get western new York onboard…and western new York is much more conservative…
