As for NK, well, they had a few issues with famine and bad crop yields due to low tech and stuff, at least until Iteaveled there, it was some 15 years ago.
I an happy to see they are better off now, at least I hope they are.
I visited NK and Pyongyang many years ago… Thats kind of good news for the people it seems… Maybe from constant famine and concentration camps something is slowly improving for the people?
If they actually go trough this, it will be interesting to watch.
European here. Those bases are a huge cost for the society, and the military basically have immunity from law. There have been a number of occasions where us military even killed people and got away with no issue.
To be frank, take those bases away and go to fight your next failed war, US …

Tariffs? Maybe export labour laws instead of exporting democracy? Maybe even better, export human rights so that the race to the bottom actually has a decent and ethnically acceptable bottom?
