i am familiar with solzhenidiot, his position is that the vast majority of people calling themselves MLs in the west are closer to anarchists than actual MLs. his view is that this happens because most westerners do not realize they are “bourgousie proletariat” and that their class is actually in opposition to the global proletariat, and so to become a proper ML they must actually realize their own class position and become a class traitor to actually properly develop ideologically. i would describe him as a 3rd worldist ML (as opposed to a 3rd worldist maoist) so he still holds the same position generally held among western MLs on AES but is very pessimistic about the chances of revolution in the first world.

i think some of his views are quite accurate, but i do not hold nearly the same level of pessimism, and he is a little too close to being a vulgar economist in that he refuses to moderate his language when he’s told he’s using terms that are too close to actual slurs like “westoid”, but if im being charitable to him i think it more likely stems from arrogance than lack of recognition of class struggle outside of vulgar econonism
