The mod has stated they have automatic tooling for banning people who downvote on their communities and personally I was banned after one downvote.

Did you contact the mod directly? They’ve also said they’re happy to unban but you’d have to behave like an adult instead of throwing a tantrum.

It’s really not power tripping unless they directly refuse to engage and remove the ban after you’ve attempted to resolve it civilly. Mods often use tools to manage their responsibilities and tools can make mistakes, as can mods.

If you truly prefer 2 then you wouldn’t automatically ban people for downvoting posts in your communities.

The mod message clearly says it wasn’t because of an opposing viewpoint but was for mass downvoting.

You go into a community you already disagree with you’re going to see a lot of comments you disagree with too. Mass downvoting isn’t engagement. Perhaps instead of downvoting all those posts, OP could have responded to them with their opposing view and actual engaged with the opposition like they did in the one referenced post.

We do and I feel like you do. That’s why that community used to bug me so much.

I learned first hand that having a pit or pit mix is a lot different and they take a very patient owner and consistent method of training.

When was this? The one I used to see in All got new moderation (the mod being discussed) who introduced, what I thought, were reasonable rules to encourage actual discourse.
