It’s not an “or” situation. It is and always has been an “and”.
My gripe is with people refusing to do anything on a personal level because “what does it matter when X industry pollutes more in 5 minutes than I do in a year?”.
I’m beautiful and tough like a diamond…or beef jerky in a ball gown.

I get what you’re saying and the “individual carbon footprint” is often used to blame shift to regular people just living their lives, but we do still have a carbon footprint. It may be a tiny, rodent-sized footprint compared to the Kaiju-sized ones of big industries, but our actions and choices do have an effect (especially collectively).
I just don’t like dismissing the individual carbon footprint as total propaganda because it’s not wrong (though I acknowledge it is abused). Dismissing it like that just puts out a defeatist “nothing I do matters” message when our individual choices do matter and add up.
Can you live a totally carbon-neutral life in the modern age? No, probably not. But we also shouldn’t throw the baby out with the bathwater and do nothing.

Nope, sorry. Sally Jessy Raphael is the only person allowed to wear those glasses.

Oh, nice. I didn’t catch what account posted it when I clicked on it.

It was the other day, too. It’ll probably be gone by tomorrow though. But keep uploading it for sure.

the segment has been shared widely on social media
Not widely enough.

Even if they do eventually air it, it would be enlightening to play “spot the difference” between what they didn’t want to air and what they finally do. My guess would be CBS doing something like sed s/Trump/Biden/g to the script.

Basically pretending to be an organic grass-roots movement or to plant the seeds but the movement is to either destabilize or otherwise benefit a foreign entity.
How do you do my fellow Americans? How about we just start burning stuff down?
Basically shit like that (it’s not always that transparent except when it is exactly that transparent). See it pretty often even on here (less so since I’ve enabled “turbo” on my block button).

I guess what I’m saying is we should get the hell rid of it all so eventually public opinion won’t be swayed by cheap foreign labor, bots, and people who just want to burn it all down.
I’ve blocked so many accounts on here that are clearly not Americans just straight up trying to incite shit in US news / politics communities. I don’t know what’s worse: the number of upvotes those get or how transparent they are.

Two thoughts:

Because the law is optional in Texas.
I’m guessing the entire point is to goad someone into suing so it makes its way to SCOTUS and becomes optional or worse nationwide.

15 posts for a 3hr old account. Slow your roll, Louna.

Please tell me they have to give me a paper ballot if I ask.

Until she crawls out for a presidential run in 2028…

Now, that’s not fair. Come on!
They also protest-non-voted for:

Let me state it as a parable: If the building was on fire and someone was blocking the fire exit, but I managed to escape by shattering a 2nd floor window, yes, I would be mad at the person blocking the exit.
And more so: This was, very much, a clear and present danger. As we are all experiencing now. None of what is happening now is a surprise. Yet those people still refused to help or lift a finger to prevent it.

Doesn’t matter.
There was a clear and present danger that everyone with two brain cells to rub together was trying to prevent, and these people were actively standing in the way.

I’m a salt mine over this.
I like that expression.
People are dying, poor families with disabled children are losing healthcare, trans people are under federal attack, science and education is being gutted, and on and on
According to the people we’re both salty at, that’s apparently an acceptable price to pay to “teach the Dems a lesson”. (That was one of the most common reasons they’d give last year, and yep, I’m still salty about that too).
But at least they saved Palestine ¯_(ツ)_/¯
We kind-of fell out of the tradition during and after COVID, but for almost 20 years now my friends and I would always do a spring and autumn camping trip out in the absolute middle of nowhere where there’s no cell service at all. Best weekends of my life and from 2015 on, were largely for the reasons mentioned in the article.
