Yeah I don’t think the people in the article are happy with that comparison at all. People are currently unable to find work.

Yeah that’s what kept coming to mind: All these people are The Guardian readers so they probably already dislike Trump and likely blame him for this loss of benefits.
I would have liked to see The Guardian interview actual Trump voters to see what they feel about things.

The upsides are that trump and his cabal are idiots. Yeah they do have a lot of resources, and power, but they don’t know how to wield it well, or they let their egos makes important decisions.
Will we come back from this? Idk, but their stupidity will be our only saving grace.

very true. Compare this, to what’s happening in the Fed; Trump is having issues removing multiple figures and being challenged in court.
If we come back from this, we need to codify so many more rules and create significantly more independent bodies so another Republican doesn’t do this shit again.

I believe the quote is, “and then everything got worse”

Idk the retraction is pretty honest. Not to mention, that source may have said things originally, and not wanted to continue to say those same things afterwards for any number of reasons(they were lies or even, they don’t feel comfortable being publicized)
So it seems you’re trying to say that some of new week’s articles may not be of high quality so we shouldn’t dismiss them as a reliable news source. I feel like that’s a very low bar for a news source in a world with a lot of fake news, that ultimately makes Newsweek unreliable.

lol i think that makes it even more hilarious. Trump likes to also compliment himself in his statements, so its par for the course in mimicking him.

It’s so bad for me sometimes. Somebody actually commented to a other poster saying I’m probably drunk commenting and thats why I make no sense. Nope just sober and not as responsible as I should be in reviewing my comments lol.

Fixed, thank you. Typing on my phone degrades the quality of my writing significantly.

Is It just me, or is this a very badly written article? I read it twice and it makes no sense to me. I understand the article is trying to day fix say fox news it’s trying to be manipulative, but it’s not clear in what way based on what is written. No context is provided. They mention the time the call takes, in Newsom’s and Trump’s local times like that helps when we don’t know when the fox segment airs, nor when Trump’s claim of calling newsom.

I kinda feel the issues happening in the US will be resolved soonish. And by resolved I mean, either the US will fall apart, and add you said will continue to be unreliable, or trumpisn will be defeated

Nah, I remember during his first presidency, it would sometimes be weeks lol. Checking out his Twitter posts was what finally convinced me Republicans are nowhere near the same as Democrats or that they are well intentioned politicians.

Lol yeah for real, there’s a chance Elon will finally do some good again by getting conservatives to buy EVs. Then maybe go to jail too.

Well china is completely anti free market.so I’m actually surprised more countries aren’t charging more tarrifs on them. Also, I don’t think most major countries are completely protectionist free.

Lol what? Incumbents have a huge advantage in running. It would be selfish for him not to run.

So reasons include: politics (Lots of swing voters work in the auto manufacturing industry that would get pissed with an influx of chinese cars), national security (worries of the type of information Chinese cars would send back home), and lastly industry protectionism.
As much as this sucks, I kind of agree. We really don’t want to rely on China until they prove to reliably not want to screw us. If this was Taiwan, Mexico, any country from the EU, etc. I would definitely want their cheap EVs to hit our market and bloody up the american manufacturers.
I’m not familiar with any of this, where did you learn about this?
