For almost a week now I’ve been going to bed expecting to wake up to the US officially joining the war. But it’s still just all talk.

Hmmm, this seems very reminiscent of the start of the Ukraine war – big doomerism from people afraid that the country might collapse due to Western pressure, and then it just… doesn’t.
False claims of air dominance from the West, some “embarassments”, deaths of high ranking officials (Generals in Russia’s case), Western hopes to balkanize the country, and finally a slow, attritional approach to avoid giving the West casus belli to jump in with their own forces.
You know the situation has deteriorated when not even the culture war can distract people anymore.

On another note, I’ve long theorized that there’s a split between isolationist, and imperialist conservatives, who primarily differ in foreign policy. Alt-right and Neocons respectively.
Trump was able to win against the GOP establishment due to the support of the former. What we are now observing is Trump becoming their Judas – I don’t think they will fall back in line for him after this.
After all, he doesn’t really have to worry about popularity anymore. There isn’t going to be any further elections for him, one way or the other.
Pretty much all the Pro-Russian Twitter accounts that I know are consistently drawing attention to Israel’s psychopathic actions and calling them out for it, and are ridiculing the MAGA side for believing in Trump’s bullshit.
They aren’t what I would consider Marxist, or even Leftist, yet what they say is remarkably consistent with everything said here.
Almost feels like the state of the world has deteriorated to a point where ideology doesn’t even matter anymore. There is now a split of those who can observe and understand basic realities, and those who no longer can (or aren’t willing to do so).
