  • They’re blaming vandals, but where’s the evidence? There’s absolutely cameras over every square inch of the National Mall. What are the odds it’s the fault of yet more incompetent people being handed overpriced handouts from this administration?

Another of the people familiar with the matter said the spill adds to doubt about the future of the grass on the National Mall, which was already vulnerable given the number of high-foot-traffic events planned there over the coming weeks. They include celebrations of the nation’s 250th anniversary, such as a Great American State Fair and a Fourth of July Salute to America, as well as an IndyCar race planned for August.

There’s gonna be a dead, muddy lawn, abandoned vehicles on cinder blocks, probably some fire damage from unprofessionally exploded fireworks, won’t there be?

  • Counter to the constitution, of course. As usual. The power of the purse was intentionally given to congress alone, so that at least the elected officials can be fired or rehired or charged with crimes by the people. Giving those powers to a legally immune king, or letting one take those powers just returns us to the system the US was created to escape in the first place. I have no faith in the current Supreme Court to admit this, nor limit any conservative presenting executive leader from acting in any way that takes the power of the purse away from congress or the states.
