They’ve been filling positions from their ranks for years. They’re so deep in the shit, they have everything to lose and therefore nothing to lose.

This would make sense if it was a response to Russia, but we all know that that’s not what this admin is about.

And that’s what I really find worrying here. This is not a Cold War scenario. This is an admin that really is keen on showing its own citizens and the world who is boss. And the person who can ultimately pull the trigger is a truly unhinged narcissist who has no business leading a country in the first place.
