I’m not under the illusion that they’re leftists, I’m just saying that they’re not the same strain of thought as the usual suspects. Removed of context, their statements sound like they could’ve been issued from the CPC it’s kinda surreal. They’re not just not leftists, they’re an unhinged, utterly dishonest stalking horse for extreme right-wing Christian organisations, who are working to set back actual feminist causes back decades. They’re the exact same kind of ‘feminist’ lobby group as all those fake-feminist & LGBnoTQ+ orgs that have been pushing transpobia & radicalising white women into neo-Nazism. In fact, several of their leadership literally share a publisher of Christian fascist propaganda that directly targets LGBTQ+ folks and other minorities. Likewise, several members have a long history of racist campaigning and their most prominent government ally is a corrupt MP who is avowedly anti-LGTBQ+ and oversaw Austrailia’s fascist border & immigration policy.

Is this the point where we tell you that the levers used to toss LGBT content out of schools, libraries, and elsewhere in the US are the exact same levers used against sexual content as well? They don’t even bother to relabel the levers when they do so either. All in the name of removing said content to protect women and children. Hell, you’re actually doing what they want you to do by going after anyone against this under the very veil of protecting women and children.
That’s why they do it like this here US, so they (and anyone who doesn’t investigate) get to attack anyone against it with some form of “think about the women and children” to shut down any criticism and pushback against it, and to make it look like from the outside looking in that anyone who is against having this happen are just a bunch of ‘[you know exactly what word these people would intend goes here]’ looking to exploit women and children.

Some right wing people have learned how to manipulate well meaning people (usually liberals) to fight battles for them, and this is one of the many ways they do it. By smuggling anti-LGBT stuff in with anti-sexuality stuff, but put heavy emphasis of the sexual side to disguise the true intent. They can get well meaning liberals to think that it really is meaning to just protect women and children by using the correct words, and get these very same liberals to carry water for them, so that they have a chance at enacting their real goal of trying to force LGBT people back into the closet.
