I’ve recently noticed a push by libs and boba libs to classify Asians as being “white adjacent”. I have zero doubt that the only goal of this is to justify anti-Chinese persecution as “not racist”.
I have an old high school friend who came out of Tom DeLay’s Sugar Land a die-hard Republican.
She’s active in the party down there, but she’s chronically frustrated when she has to keep reminding people that she’s Taiwanese and definitely not a Communist.
Incidentally, she’s been courted by Democrats a few times thanks to her relatively high profile and abysmal performance in GOP primaries, because her politics don’t matter to Sugar Land Dems. They just want people who they think can win with Asian voters.
