I’ve never seen a good explanation for how Egyptians reconciled the belief that the souls needed a complete body to reincarnate in the afterlife, and how that applies to people that died from, for example, their skull being completely crushed.
Did their executioner need to be sure not to hit too hard? Is keeping the skull as intact as possible an explanation for why they didn’t use a mace?
Is there a grave somewhere where they buried the servants the executioner got wrong?
