Yep, the whole Strait of Hormuz thing, very ironically makes me think the long arc of the moral universe will bend towards climate action, the tools are there but the opportunity is ours to seize upon or lose. Pretty much we only have until 2030 to save ourselves from the worst cascading calamities. Even if drastic action is taken now, a certain level of catastrophe is coming, but now it’s about mitigating how bad it will get, because it’s too late to prevent it.

There is no catastrophe coming. The catastrophe is today.

Hundreds of thousands of excess deaths every year just due human bodies failing have been happening for years due to summer heat.

Massive drought causing famine and self perpetuating wild fires. Massive floods and landslides causing massive destruction and death. Mass extinction isn’t on the horizon. It’s happening now.

Yeah I know, we’re bracing for a whopper of an El Niño across the world. The bad news is still worse than this year’s El Niño is coming due to environmental damage we’ve done, but the good news is still worse than that is avertable, if you catch my drift. People are oddly resilient, so I think it can get quite a bit worse than it is now before something I’d qualify as mass extinction would happen. Like COVID, we saw excess deaths with heat, not a mass extinction.

Bro made a choice in 2000 to not call out the bullshit. We can effectively thank this fuck for our current circumstance.

I did. Quite well aware of 5-4 and Strict Scrutiny.

Edit: he went to court and let them run out without a single push to the people. He’s complicit.

You act like SCOTUS was/is it for America. That mfer was just the wet noodle out in place to fuck us.

Edit: why you think they bring him out every voting session like a broke ass record. He is the white man’s failure and complicity.

Sorry, maybe that was a typo but I don’t understand what you meant.

wet noodle … to fuck us

He was the candidate that was trying to address environmental issues that are currently disproportionately impacting the poor and POCs.

If you’re just looking to be angry at somebody, there’s better targets than the guy not in power that’s still trying.

Motherfucker he ran a presidential campaign and fought the issue up to the supreme court. What more do you want from him?

And what have you done that is better? What makes you not complicit?
