Tone is a national embarrassment, folks. You plug in a Strat - what do you get? A hissy little noodle of a sound. Thin. Weak. Like a little latte with a guitar string in it. People say it’s vintage. I say it’s obsolete. Total tone hoax.

And Springsteen -they call him the Boss. I don’t think so. He’s playing that beat-up Telecaster like it’s 1978 and he’s still got testosterone. But it’s all clank. All jangle. The strings are practically apologizing. Disgraceful.

Now my humbucker - the Trumpbucker - it’s strong. It’s patriotic. One time I plugged it in, and it looked at me - very respectfully - and it said, “Sir.” Just like that. “Sir.” And I knew right then, folks. And the generals - my beautiful generals - they heard the tone, and I watched them cry. These are tough, tough killers, quite frankly. Tears of tone, folks. They said, “Sir, that’s the frequency of freedom.” Nobody cried when Springsteen played “Born to Run.” They left early.
