A reminder that as the US continues to threaten countries around the world, fedposting is to be very much avoided (even with qualifiers like “in Minecraft”) and comments containing it will be removed.

Image is of Iranians celebrating the beginning of the ceasefire under the framework of Iran’s 10 Points.

Mere hours before Trump’s 8pm Tuesday deadline yesterday, Pakistan’s government contacted Iran with a US-written proposal for a two-week ceasefire, explicitly stated to also include Lebanon, during which they would negotiate a permanent end to the war on the basis of Iran’s 10 Points. Among other things, these points include 1) maintaining strict control (joint with Oman) over Hormuz, complete with a toll; 2) the end of sanctions on Iran; 3) keeping their enriched uranium; 4) a withdrawal of US forces from the Middle East [stated by the Supreme Leadership Council but not in the 10 Points, so who knows], and 5) some plausible guarantee that Iran would never be attacked again. I’ve heard rumors that China may have prodded Iran to accept these terms.

In theory, these are relatively confident and maximalist demands. In practice, Iran has already achieved military and economic control over Hormuz and the withdrawal of many US troops and bases from the region, so at least a few of Iran’s demands are, to a greater or lesser extent, already achieved, and with little hope for an increasingly exhausted US to undo these achievements short of nukes.

A couple hours after the ceasefire, the Zionist entity began a wave of airstrikes in Lebanon, killing hundreds of civilians, as well as flying drones into Iranian airspace. This was a strange move to make even if you assume - very sensibly - that the US is completely agreement non-capable: why not agree to the ceasefire and simply pretend to negotiate for two weeks while regrouping/repairing what assets you can and then start hitting Iran again?

One theory is that the Zionists are testing to what degree Iran is actually willing to have solidarity with Lebanon and Hezbollah. While the Resistance has been relatively united since October 7th, the formation of separate peaces instead of negotiating terms as a united front has been a major exploitable weakness. Alternatively, it’s been proposed that the US didn’t even consider using the ceasefire to regroup and deceive Iran, and that Trump merely wanted a way to chicken out of his threat on Iran’s electrical grid - the fact that US officials have since stated that Iran’s 10 Points were not the same ones they agreed to is a point supporting this, I suppose. If the conflict resumes and Trump does not deliver another 48 hour deadline (and/or makes it something silly like a month from now) then this could be the explanation.

From Iran, I am getting the sense that a lot is happening behind the scenes. Statements from top officials like Araghchi have stated quite plainly that there will be no ceasefire and no negotiations unless the Zionists stop attacking Lebanon, but as of ~24 hours after the ceasefire began, there has been no significant military response from Iran yet. There have apparently been phone calls between Araghchi and numerous regional officials, but it is unknown to what end. All the while, the global economic situation continues to deteriorate. Over the next week or two, the last tankers that left Hormuz before it closed will arrive at their destinations. If the missile exchanges begin once more, then the West, much like most of the rest of the world, will be experiencing all sorts of fuel, energy, food, and product shortages while trying to justify why they broke the ceasefire to kill more Lebanese civilians.

The Zionist Entity's Genocide of Palestine

Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict. While he is a reactionary and surrounds himself with likeminded people, his daily update videos are relatively brainworm-free and good if you don’t want to follow Russian telegram channels to get news. He also co-hosts The Duran, which is more explicitly conservative, racist, sexist, transphobic, anti-communist, etc when guests are invited on, but is just about tolerable when it’s just the two of them if you want a little more analysis.

Peru’s Porky insists on the fraud and asks the JNE to annul more than 22,000 votes from Cajamarca - Infobae

Porky’s party seeks to have the voting records declared null and void where Roberto Sánchez obtained a large number of votes.

    Article

Popular Renewal insists on the non-existent fraud and has submitted more than 100 requests to the National Elections Board (JNE) to annul polling stations in the department of Cajamarca .

The party of former Lima mayor Rafael López Aliaga is seeking to have all votes in cities such as Chota, Cochabamba, San Juan, Magdalena, Huambos, Pedro Gálvez, Baños del Inca, and Chetilla completely annulled. Based on a review of each ballot that they are trying to annul, Infobae determined that a total of 22,631 votes are involved.

López Aliaga received a low number of votes at all polling stations . In most of these stations, Roberto Sánchez , the candidate for Juntos por el Perú, garnered more support and is neck and neck with Keiko Fujimori for a place in the second round .

For example, at one polling station, Sánchez obtained 100 votes, while López Aliaga did not exceed 10.

In some polling stations that are being challenged, Fujimori won , while in a few others, the candidate of the Good Government Party, Jorge Nieto , won .

The arguments of the Popular Renewal representatives are questionable . In some polling stations, they seek to have the results annulled because the number “0” was not placed when a party did not receive any votes; however, they challenge other polling stations precisely because that number was placed in the party boxes.

Another argument used by the sky-blue party to challenge polling stations en masse is that the signatures of the polling station members extended beyond the box, that the station was supposedly sealed incorrectly, that the polling station was set up minutes before 7:00 a.m., or that it was not specified whether the time corresponded to am or pm.

Incredibly, they are asking the Special Electoral Jury to apply article 363 of the Organic Law of Elections, which empowers these bodies to declare the nullity of a polling station “when there has been fraud.”

“Therefore, I request that our request be declared founded and consequently that the challenged document be declared NULL, and that the votes it contains in favor of any political party not be counted,” is the request that is repeated in all the requests for annulment from Popular Renewal.

The race for second place in Peru’s presidential election will be decided vote by vote: Rafael López Aliaga and Roberto Sánchez are separated by only 9,365 votes, with more than 5,000 ballots still under review and deliberations pending in the Special Electoral Tribunals. This minimal difference keeps the name of the candidate who will face Keiko Fujimori in the second round in suspense, a situation that could be resolved once the ballots from abroad are counted, where López Aliaga has more support than Sánchez.

The provisional count by the National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE) has reached 92.961% of the tally sheets. López Aliaga , candidate for Popular Renewal and former mayor of Lima, has 1,869,844 votes (11.919%), while Roberto Sánchez of Together for Peru, former minister during the Pedro Castillo administration, has 1,879,201 votes (11.978%). Fujimori , leader of Popular Force, leads the election with 2,677,211 votes , equivalent to 17.065% of the valid ballots, and his place in the second round is already secured.

The outcome between López Aliaga and Sánchez hinges on the remaining 1,512 tally sheets —equivalent to 1.630% of the total—and the 5,020 observed tally sheets (5.411%), whose validity is still under review by the Special Electoral Tribunals. The result of this process will not only determine Fujimori’s opponent but could also alter the parliamentary balance and the immediate political landscape.
