Some Americans have reportedly started traveling 120 miles across state borders for cheaper gasoline
Idiots, burn more than you save
It said Explorer hybrid for that part, so i was curious and looked it up.
26mpg, 18gallon tank, $7/gal in one state and $4 in the next state over
Thats about 5 gallons to drive 120 miles
It costs $126 to fill up in the $7 state, and $72 in the $4 state
Thats a $50 savings pump vs pump, but $40 in gas to get there and back again IF that gas is from the cheap state
Ill pay the extra $10 and avoid crazy mileage on my car, thanks
But like you said the gas must be from the cheap state to begin with so they will take multiple trips to even need to break even and then the cost must stay that low in the other state each time. But yes the wear on the car will cost more in the long run.
You have to drive back too
Thats about 5 gallons to drive 120 miles
but you have to drive back.
Truck owners no math goodly anyway.
I included that in the calculations
No reason they wouldn’t be filling cans as well. Would probably take quite a few to break even tho
Why does the thumbnail feature a dumpster in front of a gas station sign?
$7 per US gallon is the price; that’s around €1.60 per litre.
you get what you vote for
