While it is a capitalist state, not every capitalist state’s foreign policy is purely motivated by profit. There are other incentives. Russia wants to weaken the US international position and that has more than just monetary benefits.
Nationalism or cultural motives are sometimes more important than capital. Japan refusing to allow foreign capitalists to buy their businesses is a notable example; their cultural xenophobia is stronger than their desire for profit.

Russia wants to weaken western capital just go replace it, be it regionally or globally. Just like German Empire fought British/French in WWI.
Thinking about as anti-imperalist force when it had no problems cooperating with western capital before 2022 (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ZZfI6t-qNGw&t=609s&pp=2AHhBJACAdIHCQnZCgGHKiGM7w%3D%3D), and only changed it’s position to create a campist situation, whereas russian capital stole gold through Sudan (if im not mistaken, https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=RzoYQlk-XaI), used nazi PMC “vagner” to defend it’s capital abroad (literal definition of imperialism), is not something to hope for
I think that’s an overly simplistic viewpoint. You can’t fairly reduce Russia’s entire foreign policy to “profit motive”. Have you considered that some of their motivation might be revenge? Revenge is rarely profitable.
