The postal service delivers medicine and supplies to people in rough areas who need it. I doubt even the cronies in government now would let that happen, not to mention the economic calamity that would come from it happening. The postal service is like the 2nd or 3rd largest employer in the country.
People worry about privatization, but the postal service is in the constitution. Even if the current administration has no respect for the ancient toilet paper, it would be risky for any outside party to invest in taking it over when they could be booted by whatever administration that follows.
