International solidarity with Cuba is once again crossing the Atlantic. On March 17, the European Convoy for Cuba—as a partner of the Nuestra América Convoy—is organizing a humanitarian mission departing from Italy for Havana. The initiative seeks to address the tightening of the US blockade, which, as the organizers denounce, “is depriving millions of people of fuel, medicine, and hope.”
The expedition will combine air and sea transport. The majority of participants will fly from Milan Malpensa and Rome Fiumicino airports on March 17th on a NEOS Airlines flight. Each passenger will carry two suitcases filled with donated medications, collected beforehand through donation drives. These medications were specifically requested by the Cuban Ministry of Public Health, which provided the list of necessary products.
The program includes the official reception of the maritime fleet, which will arrive at Havana’s Malecón on March 21 with a public event. During the following days, participants will take part in a program coordinated by AICEC (Agency for Cultural and Economic Exchange with Cuba), which includes cultural and exchange activities. The return to Italy is scheduled for the early morning of March 24, with arrival in Rome and Milan on the 25th.
The organization emphasizes that this is a “humanitarian mission, not a tourist package.” Therefore, the group will stay in the same hotel or in nearby accommodations, and will primarily travel on foot to avoid consuming fuel or becoming a logistical burden for the country. “Cuba shouldn’t be concerned with foreigners; it should be able to focus its resources on its own citizens,” they state.
The participation fee is €960 per person and includes flights, accommodation in a double or triple room, breakfasts, bus transfers, scheduled activities, and visa processing. It does not include meals (except breakfasts), mandatory medical insurance, or gratuities.
Those unable to travel can contribute through financial donations to cover logistical expenses and the purchase of humanitarian supplies. Transfers should be made to AICEC (IBAN: IT79X0200801104000104113311), avoiding the word “Cuba” in the payment details to circumvent automatic bank blocks.
The call is open to all those committed to solidarity and the Cuban cause. For more information on the list of approved medications and procedures, those interested can write to the email address of the Let Cuba Breathe campaign.

The total participation fee for the mission is €960.00 per person
NB We remind you that this is a humanitarian mission, not a tourist package. In this context, it is essential that our presence be respectful, minimal, and organized. We cannot afford to become a burden on local structures or demand additional logistical effort. Cuba should not be concerned with foreigners; it should be able to concentrate its resources on its own citizens. Precisely for this reason, we have chosen to structure the mission in a compact and indivisible manner. We will all sleep in the same hotel or in accommodations very close to one another, so that we can travel primarily on foot and minimize fuel consumption. This avoids creating the need for fragmented transportation or journeys from various points in the city, which would require resources that the country cannot currently afford to dedicate to us.
Participation in the activities of Nuestra América Convoy is also strongly recommended for the same reason. It is not about limiting individual freedom, but about ensuring organizational coherence and logistical sustainability. In a context of energy rationing and transportation difficulties, dispersing means risking not reaching the planned locations or creating coordination problems. The collective dimension is, therefore, also a choice of responsibility. Naturally, there will be free time, compatible with the overall program, because the mission is also a human and cultural experience in addition to being one of solidarity.
