True. Trump mentioning the possibility of attack on US soil this early might mean he has a false flag plan (or several) cooked up. His own Reichstag fire moment, if you will.

EDIT: Now I’m thinking about it. Cuba, in its infinite patience, has never retaliated on US soil since the revolution. Lots of USians see the (propaganda) pics of Havana and might think “How could that technologically backward country have any capability to strike us on our turf?” and they’d right. So Cuba might be out. Iran, if it has hypersonics, could just send a missile or three. And I think since the US started the war by striking first, USians are expecting an attack at home by Iran but their reaction will be either more anger at Trump or more or less “meh, it’s the cost of war”. So that could rule out Iran.

I think a false flag plan that blames Leftists and marginalized groups for an attack might be the bigger threat. Trump wants an excuse to lock down the country and root out Leftists and anyone else opposing his rule. Congress right now is working on a plan to de-anonymize the Internet which goes along with helping Trump root out his enemies. Trump seems to be in love with the idea of enemies from within and so does his base and possibly half of the US, so I think that’s what he’d go with.

That’s pretty much what he was trying to do with 1/6, leftists groups just didn’t take the bait.

NBC interviewed Iran’s foreign minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi yesterday and asked “Should Americans worry about Iran retaliating on US soil?” Araghchi essentially responded “We have plenty of US targets in the region, thanks”

Someone mentioned it the other day, and I’m brining it back up, but Iranian sleeper cells in the USA don’t even need to shoot people - they can just target the right substations and totally cripple the grid. Why bother farting around killing randos when you can inflict maximum damage this way?
