It seems like it should be a longer time than it has, but even after just over a year I see more and more of the formerly rabid trump fans around here looking a fair bit sheepish, like they don’t want to admit their support any more.

Not like people didn’t scream this would be the outcome from the start, but the levels of lunacy seem to have caught even his most dedicated by surprise.

While I think this is true of who will actually show up to the polls, I have very little confidence that this is what will be reported as who turned out. I suspect we’ll see a lot of narrative around dems not turning out because there wasn’t the perfect candidate or because they were intimidated by ice to justify falsified voting numbers. I’ll be there voting DSA, but I won’t be surprised if the government reports it as a vote for a republican.
