The tactics of the federal force, too, have grown more aggressive and indiscriminate. Armed officers have appeared at schools, daycares, churches and mosques. Masked agents are stopping residents at traffic lights, or on their walk to the grocery store, demanding – at gunpoint – that they prove their citizenship.
The agents are targeting not only undocumented immigrants, but also those with legal immigration status and valid visas, US citizens and tribal citizens. On Tuesday, a group of local law enforcement officers said even their agents were being pulled over, reporting that off-duty police officers of color had been stopped and questioned at gunpoint by the administration’s immigration force.

Maybe you’re used to it, but the world hasn’t felt normal to me for the last decade.
In your honor, tonight I’ll dream of jim bringing his gun to the white house to enact justice. Maybe he’ll make a pitstop in Minneapolis with a bullet for every one of the 3,000 ICE agents outnumbering our police five to one.

By normal I mean to the average American. I agree, the past 10 years have been a shit show.
No one said bullets were the answer. There are lots of things in between screaming and shooting.
But, I know you already prefer to keep your head down and your mouth shut, so I won’t waste my time elaborating.
I’m not sure what non-peaceful protest doesn’t turn into shooting, so I’d actually love if you elaborated on what that looks like.
Anyway, see you downtown tomorrow!
You will see me.
So one thing we should be doing is using that leaked list of ice agents to identify all their friends and relatives and harass them online and in person. We should be making it very uncomfortable for them. All of that can be done online. (Use a vpn)
Another thing is, when it can be done safely, damaging ice vehicles. Like tire slashing. There are people following them around blowing whistles. Whenever they leave the car to go raid a building, slash and bash.
We can be doing all the same things to politicians. Make them do something.
If you don’t like any of those options, that’s fine… But that’s why we have this conversation. That’s why we don’t just dismiss people who want to do more than stand around with a sign.
Okay, I can respect doing those things. But between this and the other thread we’ve been talking in, I’ve felt that you are being dismissive of actions beyond standing around with a sign that don’t involve directly inhibiting ICE, such as delivering foods to families that can’t leave their home for fear of ICE. It honestly gave me the impression of an out of State keyboard warrior telling other people to get themselves killed.
To be frank, I’m not at the point where I’ll slash tires, although I’m not extremely far off and getting closer with every news article and discussion with friends and family. I’ve always been more of a supporter of others, and right now that means doing the work to ensure the targets of ICE are as secure as possible while you do the work of making ICE’s lives hell. I don’t think it’s crazy to say both should be respected.
Your interpretation of my dismissiveness is incorrect.
I have only ever said that standing around with a sign is not enough. It will result in zero overall change.
Don’t stop—obviously. But ramp it up. Slowly… it’s like a volume knob. There 1, and there’s 11…. And plenty in between. Just move it up to 2.
What I am dismissive of, is people who complain about people who encourage more than sign holding. You should not be upset I desire to see more action. It makes you sound like a fed trying to “calm everyone.” That’s not you right? A centrist “calm guy,” a concern troll.
