    UK being satisfactory even though its best journalism is crapload BBC and Sky News which is still a plume of smoke that came out of Murdoch’s bum.

      it’s 2 ranks behind (1 point less score) - it went up from 55 to 57 because it was the 55th best and now it is 57th best

      I thought for sure you must have misread it, but yeah it’s two points UP.

      The metrics here are presumably so narrow and incomplete for 2025 as to be absolute misinformation. Relevant quote:

      According to the U.S. Press Freedom Tracker, there were 49 journalist arrests in 2024 compared to only 15 in 2023.

      And zero recorded for 2025 so far, according to that page.
