Is this “wave of political violence” in the room with us right now? From what I can tell it’s pretty much a bunch of libs holding up posterboards and complaining about/mocking officials. I don’t think they’ve got the stomach to be violent quite frankly.
If you’re used to the privilege of nobody ever insulting you to your face, the sting of realising some people aren’t afraid to say bad things about you does feel like violence. All mechanisms intended to keep sharp words away from your fragile pride have evidently failed – what’s to say those awfully bold people won’t hurt you in other ways?
